Fourth LSCS performed on 28-06-2020 at 11 pm in Gandhinagar Hospital Jammu on a Covid Positive patient with previous LSCS, referred from DH Udhampur. Team comprised of Dr. Amandeep Kour consultant Gynaecologist, Dr.Sucheta Hans consultant Anaesthesia, Dr. Ashwani Kumar consultant Paediatrics, Rakesh Balaji OTT, Renu JSN, Sudesh NO and sanitation workers Sudesh and Rajni.
Eight Covid Positive patients were discharged from District Udhampur on 28.06.2020 after their two repeated tests turned negative.
On 27-06-2020, 13 Covid positive cases were cured and Discharged in district Samba. 2 were from AH Gagwal and 11 from ESIC hospital. Total 90 patients have become inactive.
Six Covid Positive patients were discharged from District Samba on 25-06-2020 after their repeat sample taken 24 hours apart tested negative.
Six Covid Positive patients were discharged from District Samba on 23.6.2020 after their repeat sample tested negative.Sixty Covid Positive patients have recovered and been discharged from District Samba till date.
Two Covid Positive patients were discharged from District Poonch on 23.6.2020 after their repeat sample tested negative.Total no.of Covid Positive patients recovered till date is 87.
Two Covid Positive patients were discharged from District Doda on 23.6.2020 after their repeat sample tested negative taking the tally of recovered cases to 51.
20-06-2020: A total of 49 Covid positive patients have been discharged from DH Ramban till date after their two tests came negative, within 24 hours apart.
On 19.6.2020, three Covid Positive patients discharged from Covid Care Center DH Kishtwar after their follow up samples came negative.
32 asymptomatic Covid Positive patients who were admitted in Covid Care Center Darmound, District Ramban were discharged on 18.6.2020 after their repeat sample tested negative.The patients were dropped at their respective locations by Ambulance.

Another Covid positive emergency LSCS performed at Govt. Hospital Gandhinagar. Pregnant lady was referred from Ramban to Gandhinagar hospital at 2am on 16-06-2020 and was operated at 5am for foetal distress. Both mother and baby are fine.

On 14.6.2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma, Assistant Director Schemes Dr. Sunil Sharma, CMO Jammu Dr. J.P.Singh and Mr. Susheel Soodan were honoured by Mrs. Anu Bali, Corporator Rehari for the services rendered by DHS Jammu and her team of Covid warriors against containment of the Pandemic. On 13-06-2020, Worthy Advisor to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Sh. R.R. Bhatnagar along with the Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma paid a visit to various health institutions of Udhampur and Reasi. The visiting dignitaries visited Primary Health Centre Tikri and Health & Wellness Centre Mand and interacted with the staff and patients. Block Medical Officer Tikri Dr. Manohar Lal gave a detailed description about how the patients are being managed, taking all safety measures both for health care workers and public at large. He also detailed the visiting dignitaries about the break out of Covid positive patients in block Tikri and their management and also briefed regarding the sampling of all the travellers coming by road, done at Kali Mata Mandir Tikri. Advisor (B) and Financial Commissioner showed satisfaction with the overall working of the institutions and appreciated the efforts made by Block Medical Officer and staff of PHC Tikri. Advisor (B) praised the efforts of BMO Tikri and staff for maintenance of Health & Welness Centre Mand. It is pertinent to mention here that Tikri area was declared as Red Zone few weeks back and is now no more a red zone due to the dedicated efforts and hard work of health team, block Tikri, under the direct guidance of worthy District Development Commissioner Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS and DHS Jammu.
Later the team visited District Hospital Udhampur and took a detailed round of various sections of the hospital including Emergency, Dialysis, Indoor wards and other sections with Chief Medical Officer Udhampur Dr. K.C. Dogra and Medical Superintendent Dr. Vijay Basnotra who gave a Power point presentation and apprised the visiting dignitaries that at present 94 Covid positive patients are admitted in a separate block in DH, Udhampur which has been designated as Covid Health Centre (DCHC). MS gave a detailed description regarding the work done status of DH Udhampur despite all hardships as recently 19 staff members including two doctors turned Covid positive. Further, MS added that the whole team of DH Udhampur is working hard with all zeal and dedication to combat this pandemic situation to provide medical relief to the people of Udhampur and adjoining districts. Financial Commissioner H&ME directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure the safety of the doctors and paramedics who are frontline workers and are directly dealing with Covid positive patients. Financial Commissioner Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS directed the MS that during this pandemic time all emergency cases coming to the hospital should be treated without any delay after following all protocols of safety. Later the team interacted with the staff and had a meeting with the doctors who requested the visiting dignitaries to make a separate arrangement for isolation of Covid positive staff. Advisor directed DDC Udhampur to look into the matter and make suitable and satisfactory arrangements as requested by the doctors of DH Udhampur. Advisor (B) congratulated Medical Superintendent for maintaining good upkeep of hospital. Advisor (B) Sh. Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar enquired about the availability of PPE kits and other logistics required for protection and prevention from Covid infection. Medical Superintendent, DH Udhampur apprised the Advisor that there is sufficient stock of safety equipments, majority of which is being supplied by Directorate of Health Services Jammu and also supported by the District Administration Udhampur. Advisor was particular to know about the availability of oxygen supply in the hospital and was given to understand that sufficient filled oxygen cylinders are available in DH which has been supplied by Directorate of Health Services Jammu. Advisor (B) and team also visited the Registration Counter and enquired about the OPD as well as Indoor admission status during this Covid pandemic and checked the records.
In Udhampur, Advisor (B) gave a short brief to the Press Media and conveyed his happiness over the hard work being done by all Health workers of District Udhampur and whole Jammu Division and also appreciated the efforts done by District Administration headed by DDC Udhampur
On the way back, the visiting dignitaries visited Community Health Centre Katra and were received by Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ms Indu Kanwal Chib, Chief Medical Officer Reasi Dr. Pritam Singh Thakur and Block Medical Officer CHC Katra Dr. Gopal Dutt. Advisor (B) and the team took a round of the hospital and inspected various sections including Immunization section and Maternity section. The team checked the records in the immunization section and also interacted with gynaecologist who briefed about working pattern in Maternity section in CHC Katra. Advisor (B) congratulated the CMO Reasi and health team of CHC Katra for the commendable job they are doing during this pandemic. Financial Commissioner congratulated the entire team of CHC Katra for getting National Certification under NQAS.

06-6-2020: Under the direction of CMO Samba Dr. Rajinder Samayal, Inspection of MCH & Immunization section at CHC Ramgarh and PHC Nandpur was conducted by Dy. CMO Samba in the presence of BMO Ramgarh and concerned CHOs.Vaccine Stock Registers were checked and instructions were issued to the concerned staff for maintenance of Vaccine receipt and issuance records, proper implementation of open vial policy and reducing the wastage of Vaccines.
04-06-2020: Two covid positive cases admitted in District Hospital Udhampur recovered today as two repeated tests were negative.
Eight Covid-19 patients , including one child and a woman admitted in isolation ward of Covid Health Care Centre, AH Ghagwal were discharged on 04/06/20 after two consecutive negative results. CMO Samba, Dr. Rajinder Samyal counselled them regarding the precautions to be taken and adopting healthy habits and spreading awareness regarding social distancing, hand hygiene and cough etiquettes.The staff of AH Ghagwal cheered the discharged patients and wished them good luck and healthy life. The discharged patients were full of praise for the entire staff of the hospital including the Sanitary workers. Patients were sent off in ambulances to their homes in the presence of Dy. CMO, BMO Nud, Consultants, MO/IC & District Nodal Officers.
Segregation of inmates who tested -ve on 03/06/2020 was done by Health Team deputed for COVID19 Duties at Quarantine center, TownHall, Ramnagar and Awareness regarding COVID19 was also given to inmates by Dr. Gian Sharma (Nodal Officer), Dr. Sandeep Kumar (Addl. Nodal Officer) and Harish Chander (H.E) under the supervision of Dr. MI Khan (BMO Ramnagar) inwhich inmates were made aware about the following preventive measures-
30-05-2020: The team comprising of Dr. Atula Gupta Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr. Sangeeta Singh Consultant Anaesthetist and Sh. Rakesh Bakshi OT Technician sucessfully performed LSCS operation of a COVID-19 Positive patient referred from Mendhar, at Govt. Hospital Gandhinagar. Both mother and newborn are doing fine.
Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited Jammu Airport on 25.5.2020 along with DD Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, CMO Jammu Dr. J.P.Singh and DNO QAP Dr. Vijay Raina to inspect the facilities made available for passengers travelling by air. DHS interacted with the Medical officers posted at Jammu airport and the teams deployed for sample collection of passengers. DHS was satisfied with the preparations made at airport and directed the sample collection teams to work with zest in the fight against Covid.
On the directions of Financial Commissioner H&ME Mr. Atal Dulloo IAS, on 20.05.2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma along with Controller Stores Dr. Suresh Gupta and DNO QAP Dr. Vijay Raina, visited Covid Health Center Udhampur which has been created in a separate wing in the premises of District Hospital Udhampur. CMO Udhampur Dr. K C Dogra and MS DH Udhampur Dr. Vijay Basnotra gave a detailed description of the facilities created in the hospitals in the district and other newly created Covid Care establishments. DHS Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma interacted with the staff and doctors and directed them to undertake all safety precautions while dealing with the Covid positive patients. It is pertinent to mention here that DH Udhampur has already started admission of Covid positive patients and 3 patients are presently admitted in DCHC Udhampur. DHS Jammu also took round of various sections of the hospital which included Trauma Section where ICU wards have been established fully equipped with Ventilator support facilities and Dialysis unit of DH Udhampur and was happy to see patients undergoing Dialysis there. DHS also visited the Sampling Booth in DH Udhampur and directed MS Udhampur to give priority to Pregnant ladies and Elderly patients and make them comfortable during sample collection.
Later DHS visited the Newly established Covid Care Centre in GNM School at Bailey, Udhampur. CMO and DHO Udhampur also accompanied the Director who was satisfied with the preparations done there at war footing to accommodate the Covid positive patients if and when required.
On the way back, Dr. Renu Sharma and team visited Sample Collection Booth created at Govt. School Tikri and interacted with BMO Tikri Dr. Manohar Lal and the staff there. She appreciated the efforts of the entire Health staff of District Udhampur for putting in hard work in the fight against Covid.
National Dengue Day- 16th May, 2020 with the Theme "Effective Community Engagement; Key to Dengue Prevention" was observed in all the districts of UT J&K today and various Digital modes for IEC were adopted like . . Further, it was stressed upon that Dengue awareness activities shall be continued by the health care workers side by side along with Covid-19 activities.
On 14.05.20 Dr. Renu Sharma, Director Health Services Jammu visited New Covid collection centre in Psychiatry Hospital along with
Epidemiologist Dr. ADS Manhas and other senior officers of Directorate of Health Services Jammu. She interacted and encouraged the staff and also assured them that all possible help will be given to them to ensure that all samples collected are tested in time as in coming days large scale sampling is expected keeping in
view the shifting of the large number of native persons from different states through all ways of transportation.
Under the guidance of worthy Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma, a one day Orientation/ Training program regarding establishment of Covid Health Centers and Covid Care Centers at District Poonch, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Kathua and Reasi was organised on 14.05.2020 in the Conference Hall of DHS complex in the presence of Dy. Director Schemes Dr. Seema Gupta, Dy. Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, AD Schemes Dr. Sunil Sharma, Nodal Officer NCD Dr. Samir Koul, DNO QAP Dr. Vijay Raina and Nodal Officers of the above five Districts.
In this program, sensitization was done regarding the establishment of Covid Care Centers at District levels and management of Covid positive patients.
The training was imparted by DD Schemes Dr. Seema Gupta, AD Schemes Dr. Sunil Sharma and DNO QAP Dr. Vijay Raina.
Dialysis of sick Covid 19 +ve patient was performed in Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar on 11.05.2020. The patient is admitted in GMC Jammu as a
case of CKD / HYPERTENSION /HYPERTROPHIC HEART DISEASE /LVF and was brought to Gandhi Nagar Hospital for Dialysis. After dialysis,
patient was shifted back to GMC Jammu. The Dialysis team at Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar consisted of Dr. Rachna Wattal (Sr. Medical Officer),
Mr. Ankush Anand (Pharmacist Technician) and Jai Singh ( Nursing Asstt).
Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Renu Sharma visited Radha Swami Ashram, Thandi Khui, Samba on 03.05.2020 to oversee the sample
collection for covid-19 started for the people coming from outside J&K UT. She was satisfied with the arrangements and appreciated the
staff who were deployed for registration and sample collection.
She was accompanied by CMO Samba, Dy. CMO Samba and BMO Ramgarh.
On 30-04-2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited Hiranagar, Lakhanpur and Nagri Parole along with Dy. Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, CMO Kathua Dr. Ashok Choudhary, Dy. CMO Samba Dr. Sanjay Sharma and Dy. CMO Kathua Dr Neeraj Nagpal.
At Hiranagar DHS took round of the hospital and inspected the preparedness for Covid-19 and the sample collection kiosk set up there. Later DHS visited Lakhanpur, where sample collection kiosk is being set up.
At Nagri Parole DHS checked the facility being set as Covid Care Center.
30-04-2020: A sample collection centre was started on 30.4.2020 at CHC Ramgarh by Worthy Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma in the
presence of Dy. Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Samba, Dr. Rajinder Samyal, Dy. CMO Samba
Dr. Sanjay Sharma & Block Medical Officer Ramgarh Dr. Lakhwinder Singh. This will further boost the containment of Covid-19 in District Samba.
DHS also inspected various sections of the Hospital & took stock of preparedness for COVID-19.

29-04-2020: Worthy Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS along with MD JKMSCL and Director Coordination Medical Colleges Dr. Yashpal Sharma and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited the newly created COVID Care Centers at Saraswati Dham with 190 Beds, Vaishnavi Dham with 185 Beds and Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar with 300 Beds which have been designated as Level 3 Isolation centers for COVID patients. Financial Commissioner took round of the centers and was satisfied with the preparations made available.
27-04-2020: Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS along with Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited APS Domana which has been converted into COVID Care Center category 2 in collaboration with Army. Worthy Financial Commissioner took round of the COVID Care Center and was satisfied with the preparations made available.
One Covid-19 patient from Akhnoor was discharged from Govt.Hospital Gandhi Nagar on 27.4.2020 after treatment and testing negative twice.

26-04-2020: Dedication at its best...Mobile Sample Collection Van...(For suspected COVID-19 patients) District Jammu has been started under the guidance of DHS, Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma and supervision of COVID -19 Team.
World Malaria Day- 2020 was observed on 25.4.2020 in the UT-J&K, with the theme "Zero Malaria starts with me"under the guidance of Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma and supervision of State Malariologist Dr.Seema Gupta. Digital modes like broadcasting of alerts on malaria via All India Radio, social media twitter, Facebook, local news channels & newspaper were modes used for observing the day. Medical officers/Paramedical staff gave awareness and delivered lectures to health employees as well as general masses in high risk areas. IEC material was distributed and Anti mosquito sprays were conducted in various districts.
On direction of Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS Financial Commissioner H&ME J&K, on 25.4.2020 Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma along with Controller stores Dr. Suresh Gupta and Dr. Vijay Raina visited APS Domana which has been converted into designated Covid Care Centre. The team took round of the institution with army personnel and were satisfied with the preparations made available for accommodating Covid positive cases of mild nature.

Madam Sethi appreciated the steps taken by Health Department Jammu for containment of COVID-19 and lauded the work being done by all categories of health officers and officials in containment of the disease. A one day Orientation Programme regarding RATI Rapid Antibody Testing in India for COVID suspects was chaired by Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma in the conference hall of the Directorate on 21.4.2020 in the presence of AD HEB Dr. Sharda Parihar, State Epidemiologist Dr. Deepak Kapoor, Surveillance Medical Officer, WHO Dr. R.P.Singh, Public Health Expert Dr. Vijay Raina, Eight Medical Officers and lab technicians/ Pharmacist from four districts Udhampur, Reasi, Samba, Jammu, officers and officials of the Directorate. DHS briefed the target audience regarding the present scenario of COVID Pandemic in Jammu Division and urged everyone to work with zeal and integrity to fight against the Pandemic.The training was imparted by SMO, WHO Dr. R.P.Singh and Dr. Vijay Raina. Dr. Deepak Kapoor, State Epidemiologist later briefed about the urgency of conducting the workshop and thanked the audience for attending this vital workshop.
3 COVID-19 patients were discharged from Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu on 20-04-2020 after completion of treatment and having all tests negative.They have been sent for home quarantine for 14 days.
20-04-2020: Dr. Renu Shàrma Director Health Services, Jammu along with senior officers of DHS visited newly Designated Covid Care Centers i.e Yatri Bhawan Bhagwati Nagar and Saraswati Bhawan Rail Head and inspected the preparedness for accommodation of Covid positive patients. She also gave on spot instructions to the medical and paramedics posted there to be in readiness for managing and treating the Covid positive patients if referred, as per the Covid guidelines and also maintain social distancing.
13-04-2020, COVID-19: Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma along with Deputy Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma and CMO Jammu Dr. J.P.Singh visited Maulana Azad Indoor Stadium, Vaishnavi Dham, Saraswati Dham, Kalika Dham and Indoor Stadium Bhagwati Nagar to examine the capacity for expansion of Isolation and Quarantine facility.
Sh. Atal Dulloo IAS, Financial Commissioner, H&ME, UT of J&K, visited 200 bedded new Hospital Building at Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, on 10th April 2020, which has been designated as Covid Hospital. FC took a detailed round of all the 4 Floors of the Hospital regarding preparedness of Hospital for dealing with Covid positive cases. He was accompanied by Dr Yashpal Sharma, Nodal Officer for New Medical Colleges and isolation facilities for Covid, Dr L.D Bhagat, Medical Superintendent and senior Officers of various Engineering Departments.
Dr. Renu Sharma, Director Health Services Jammu along with officers of DHS Jammu on 09-04-2020, visited SDH Jagti and assessed the infrastructure of the hospital for the possible accommodation of COVID positive patients if need arises. The team visited all the sections of the hospital and interacted with the staff and doctors.

07-04-2020: The theme for this year World Health Day falling on 7th April 2020 is "Support Nurses and Midwives". Nurses and other health workers play a critical role in keeping the world healthy. They are at the forefront of Covid -19 response. The advertisement on World Health Day 2020 is published in newspapers for the support of Nurses and other Health Workers. Awareness to protect against COVID-19 is also provided to general masses through this Advertisement.
On 7.04.2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma along with AD Schemes Dr. Sunil Sharma and team consisting of the officers of DHS inspected the preparation being done for accommodating the Covid Positive patients in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar which has been identified as Level 2 Isolation Facility. The team visited the Emergency Block, Old block of the hospital and other associated areas. DHS directed Medical Superintendent Gandhi Nagar Dr. L.D. Bhagat and Deputy MS Dr. Paropkar to work on war footing and make necessary arrangements to keep all essential equipments and items available before patients can be shifted to this hospital. DHS also inspected the newly established Disinfection tunnel.
Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Sh. Atal Dulloo, IAS visited Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar on 04.04.2020 and took round of the newly designated COVID Isolation Hospital. Mr Atal Dulloo took round of the wards of newly constructed building and reviewed the preparedness for accommodating COVID positive patients. He gave instructions to Hospital Administration for immediate upkeep of the infrastructure of hospital for making it fully functional for treating COVID positive patients if need arises. Doda: Heads of Schools sensitized about Coronavirus prevention DODA, March 05: Continuing its efforts to disseminate more awareness about Coronavirus prevention across the district, Doda administration holds a sensitization program for the heads of the schools today at meeting hall DC office Doda. The program was chaired by DDC Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, besides SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed, ADC Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar, PO ICDS Shahida Parveen, CEO BDA Dr Rajendra Khajuria, CMO Doda Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, MS DH Doda Dr Yaqoob Mir, DHO Dr Tariq Masood, CEO Doda Tariq Hussain, ACR Doda Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, SDM Gandoh Pritam Lal Thapa, SDM Assar Rishi kumar, DEPO Ayaz Mughal, ZEO's, BMO's and SHO's were also present. While addressing to the school heads, DDC directed them to get well acquainted with all the preventive measures so that the same awareness will be transferred among all the students across the district. DDC informed the participants that corona virus mainly spreads in individuals after coming in close physical contact with the affected person if any and about 90% physical contact are being made through handshakes. In this regard DDC directed them in strict manner to carry out intensive health and hygiene exercise in their respective institutions for the next 10-15 days in four shifts which will primarily focus on proper hand washing techniques so that the students will practice this habit in their lives on daily basis to avoid the affect of virus. DDC stressed about to make effective use of water and soap in the schools while hand washing sessions, besides ask them to brief the students about the technique to proper use alcohol based hand sanitisers. He also directed the health department to organise more training programs in the next 2-3 days for all the Sarpanches, Panches, Asha and Anganwadi workers of the district so that awareness about Coronavirus prevention can be disseminated at the micro level. DDC also directed the police officers to place a surveillance team at Jathi and Khaleni alongwith health officials to record every inward movement to the district, besides ask the SDMs to collect the information with the help of local resources whether any individual has a travel history to abroad or to any affected countries from December till now and to communicate the same if any to the district or hospital administration so that necessary preventive measures can be taken without any delay. Further DDC ensured the general public that there is no need to panic. Earlier CMO Doda Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Pathalogist GMC Doda Dr Mehwish Sheikh and Distt Edipemologist Umar Anayat in detail discussed the causes, symptoms and preventive measures with the participants and also showed them the proper handwashing techniques through videos besides live demostration was also given by ASHA on various techniques of Hygience and Handwashing.

District Rajouri, 04-03-2020: A free mega camp on mental health awareness was organised at village Chambitarar by the department of Health, Block Kandi under the banner of District Mental Health Programme. While addressing the public, BMO Kandi said that mental health is among the most underestimated and neglected realities of life and that those suffering from mental health issues are among the most stigmatised people even in this day in age. In India at least 13.7% population has been projected to be suffering from mental disorders and depression will be the second leading cause of disease by 2020. This is not on the surface and is a hidden menace. He further said that stigma and discrimination against people living with mental disorders affect their education, employment, and access to care. Every year one adult in four, along with one child in ten, will have a mental health issue. A large amount of human potential is lost due to non-treatment of mental illness.

DHS Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma directed all CMOs, MS, BMOs and Nodal Officers to speed up the progress and achieve the targets with utilisation of funds provided before 31st March. DHS laid stress on organising Eye camps, Blood Donation Camps, Celebrate World Hanky Day on 17th March as recommended by GOI, expedite the process of DPRs of ETP, Fill up UCs and upgrade PHCs and SCs to HWCs by December 2020.
DODA, March 04, 2020: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Sagar D Doifode today chaired a one day training program organised by the District Health Society under IDSP for the MOs, Lab Technicians, ANMs regarding the prevention and preparedness to tackle the cases of corona virus if any across the district. During the day long training program Assitant Professor Microbiology Dr. Safiya, Dr. Mehwish (Pathologist) and Umar Anayat Khan District Epidemiologist gave detail presentation about Corona Virus and its preparedness in the district, besides Dr. Mehwish gave a live demonstration to the participants regarding how to wear personal prevention equipment while dealing with the cases of corona virus if any in the district. While interacting with the participants DDC directed all the health officials of the district to sensitize the general public in their respective blocks about the causes, symptoms and preventive measures to contain the affect of the virus and asked them to tell the people in their jurisdiction to follow healthy and hygienic lifestyle which includes proper hand washing, to eat healthy food etc.

Feb 29: A CME cum awareness workshop on ‘Geriatric Mental Health’ under National Health Mission Programme (NHMP) was organized in Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on the instructions of Director Health Services Jammu and under the supervision of Medical Superintendent, Dr Chander Parkash. Doctors, paramedical staff, nursing staff, counselors and supporting staff attended the workshop, during which issues related to psychological/mental health including Dementia (Alzheimer), Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis etc of elderly people were discussed in detail and the preventive and management aspects were discussed in detail by the resource person, Dr Akhil Menia (Psychiatrist at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar). In the concluding remarks, Dr Chander Parkash said that Geriatric mental health is very important, neglected issue with poor sensitivity amongst patients, care givers and administrators, and it needs to be taken seriously as elderly people are the valuable assets of the society having great wisdom gained from life time experiences in the shape of greater moral values which needs to be passed to younger generation for social, cultural and spiritual development of the society. Dr Chander Parkash added that here is dire need to raise the awareness among the general masses and other professionals about the silent epidemic of Geriatric mental health problems by the health professionals in collaboration with other allied departments of various Government/non-Government organizations.

Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited Govt. Medical College, Doda today on 28-02-2020, where she was given a warm welcome. DHS took round of all the departments along with DD Dentistry, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, CMO Doda Dr. Mushtaq, MS Doda Dr. Yaqoob and Faculty of Medical college. DHS Jammu was satisfied with its functioning. DHS also visited CHC Bhaderwah and took extensive round of all the sections and interacted with Doctors, Paramedics and patients. She appreciated BMO Bhaderwah Dr. Zargar for maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospital premises. DHS directed BMO to bring greenery for healthy environment and create herbal garden in the premises of the hospital. DHS also directed BMO to get a Doctor prepared for ETP. DHS Jammu was happy to see the Jan Aushadhi Kendra of CHC Bhaderwah functioning excellently and was well stocked with more than 160 molecules of drugs. All Doctors and staff members were present on duty and maintaining dress code. Later DHS Jammu visited Health and Wellness centers at Drudu and Dranga where the branding was excellent and all staff were present on duty. The Health and Wellness centers were functioning efficiently. DHS Jammu also visited Accidental Hospital Batote and interacted with staff and the patients. DHS was satisfied with the working and well maintained cleanliness of the hospital.

In persuance to Directions and approval of Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Renu Sharma, a review meeting of National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) of district Jammu was held on 22-02-2020 in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Health Services Jammu.The meeting was convened by State Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Sanjay Turki and CMO Jammu Dr. J. P. Singh to review the performance of Jammu district in NTEP. The participants included MS Sarwal Dr. Rajeev Sharma, DTO Jammu Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, all BMOs from Jammu district, all STS/STLS of Jammu district, Officers and Officials of the Directorate. STO welcomed all the participants. STO Jammu discussed the status of notification of TB cases, Active Case Finding, Nikshay Poshan Yojna, Sputum examination, CBNAAT Utilisation, TB-HIV and Drug Sensitivity testing. STO Jammu asked BMOs to involve Sarpanches and Panches of the area to sensitize the community for proper implementation of the programme. BMOs were also asked to send Microplan of ACF at the earliest. STO impressed upon all BMOs to timely achieve the targets of all the components of the scheme and upload the same on the portal. STO also informed that training of all BMOs shall be conducted very shortly by DTO Jammu. All BMOs and their STS/ STLS of respective blocks were apprised of their performance of 2019 and targets for 2020 by the STO Jammu. The meeting ended by commitment from all BMOs to "End TB by 2025."

On 13-02-2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma conducted an extensive tour of Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, CHC Jorian and CHC Khour along with Dr. Sharda Parihar, Assistant Director Health Education Bureau, Dr. J.P.Singh, Chief Medical Officer Jammu and Sh. R. K. Chadda, Laison Officer, Directorate of Health Services Jammu. In Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, Director Health Services Jammu took round of all sections including OPD and IPD. All consultants, doctors and paramedical staff were found present and working in their respective sections. DHS ineracted with the post operative patients and enquired about their health and facilities provided to them by the hospital management. DHS directed Block Medical Officer Dr. Anil Sharma to exhibit the boards and signages at appropriate places to provide better awareness to the public and to ban plastic carry bags and bottles within the hospital premises. DHS directed the sanitary inspector to maintain cleanliness in and around the hospital. DHS was satisfied with overall working of the hospital and directed the staff to maintain punctuality and dress code. DHS also visited under construction 200 bedded new building at Akhnoor which is to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 32.31cr. and was not happy with the pace of work. DHS directed the officers of the concerned agency, JK Housing Board present at the site to expedite the work as deadline has already been crossed. At CHC Jourian, DHS took round of all wards and OPD sections where casuality Medical Officer was present. Dr. Roopali Bakshi, Gynaecologist and Dental Surgeon were seen examining patients. I/C Medical Officer requested DHS to post paramedical staff and also demanded digital X-Ray machine for the hospital. DHS was satisfied with the overall performance of the hospital. DHS also visited newly upcoming, under construction 50 bedded hospital building at Jourian, to be constructed at the cost of Rs.1674. 29 cr. She directed the agency to expedite the construction work and complete “A” block of the building by 10th April so that the hospital can be shifted to the new building. Later, DHS visited CHC Khour which is situated 1.5 km away from LOC where all staff was found present. She interacted with doctors and paramedical staff and directed them to work with dedication for the welfare of the people. DHS was satisfied with the cleanliness and overall working of the hospital.

STO welcomed all the participants. A PowerPoint presentation was given by STO to discuss in detail the status of notification of TB cases, Nikshay Poshan Yojna, TB-HIV comorbidity, TB-Diabetes comorbidity, Universal Drug Sensitivity testing, CBNAAT Utilisation and Human Resource. STO informed that the Modular training of all the DTOs have been completed except of DTO Rajouri. STO asked all the DTOs to involve concerned BMOs, Sarpanches and Panches of the area on regular basis by training them to implement the programme. DHS Jammu laid stress on Active Case Finding, Sputum examination and Nikshay Poshan Yojna payment. DHS Jammu directed DTOs to implement all the guidelines of the programme.

On 08-02-2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma paid a surprise visit to Urban Health Centre Janipur, Urban Health Centre Roopnagar and Medical AID Centres Muthi phase I and phase II along with Dr. J.P.Singh, Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. Naveen Butyal and Sh. R. K. Chadda, Laison Officer, Directorate of Health Services Jammu. Director Health Services interacted with urban health centres' staff, listened to their problems very patiently and assured them to solve at the earliest. Attendance register was also checked and directed the staff to be punctual, dedicated and maintain the dress code. DHS also visited land in Muthi phase I measuring 2 Kanals, identified by JDA for the construction of Medical AID Centre over there. She also visited another 5 Kanals of land at Muthi Dharmal identified by JDA where construction of a modern PHC is proposed on the demand for welfare of local Population.

On 04-02-2020, World Cancer Day was observed in various districts of Jammu division. Awareness regarding signs and symptoms of different types of cancers, early identification of cancer was generated among the health staff and the community. Camps for screening of breast cancer and cervical cancer were organised in various health institutions on this day.

On 04.02.2020 Dr. K C Dogra CMO Udhampur attended the Yoga competition at Subash Stadium Udhampur in presence of District Development Commissioner Udhampur and other District officers/ prominent citizens of the district. DC Kishtwar reviews preparedness to prevent Corona virus* Kishtwar, January 30: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today convened a meeting of officers and doctors to review the preparedness to prevent the outbreak of novel Coronavirus. During the meeting, Dy. CMO Kishtwar Dr. Mohd Fareed Butt gave a detail presentation regarding the preventive measures/steps taken to prevent the affect of Corona virus and the measures taken by the health department to tackle the cases if any in the district. He further apprised the DC that a control room has been established at District HQ. (CMO Office Kishtwar) besides that a rapid response team in this regard has already been constituted and isolation ward has been established at District Hospital Kishtwar. He added that orientation programme has been organized today at CMO Office Kishtwar for All BMOs and Asha workers wherein they were sensitized about the symptoms, causes and precautions of the novel corona virus. DC calls for generating mass awareness regarding the novel coronavirus among common masses besides directed health and Asha workers to sensitize the PRIs regarding symptoms of the virus and precautions to be taken to prevent the outbreak of the disease. January 30, 2020: On Martyrs day of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi ji which is observed as Anti Leprosy Day, Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign was launched in all the districts of Jammu division.The campaign that begins on 30-01-2020 will last for a fortnight and be concluded on 13-02-2020. Prescription audit to start in DHs, SDHs soon: Dulloo JAMMU, Jan 14: The Government is taking slew of measures to rein in unethical and unfair practices in medical profession in Jammu Kashmir. This was disclosed at a meeting convened to discuss the action plan in this regard. The meeting was chaired by Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo, The meeting decided to constitute a Prescription Audit Committee (PAC) in each district and sub-district hospital, issue advisory for doctors, strengthen grievance redressal mechanism and undertake certain other measures. It was disclosed in the meeting that the prescription audit will be started at district hospitals and sub-district hospitals soon. The designated nodal officer at the health facility will collect one percent of the prescription copies of Out Patient Departments on random basis that will be audited by the PAC comprising officials from the administrative department, excluding the consultants. The key findings will be submitted to the concerned CMO and routed to the administrative department through the Health Directorate. Atal Dulloo said that the audit of the prescriptions written by the doctors working in the government hospitals would be conducted to see whether the doctors are following the ethical guidelines and if found otherwise, action will be taken accordingly. “The audit will also check any contravention to the provisions of the Drug and Cosmetic Act and Regulations, unnecessary diagnostic tests and arbitrary referrals to higher centres,” he said. He also directed the officers to hold workshops to educate the doctors about moral duties and responsibilities towards their patients and make them aware of as what is covered in unethical acts and what constitutes a professional misconduct. He also said that the billboards will be placed in all the Government hospitals, highlighting the ethical guidelines to be followed by the medical officers. It was further decided to make it mandatory for a doctor to display the registration number accorded to him by the Medical Council of India at his clinic and on the prescriptions. The physician will have to prescribe drugs with generic names, preferably in capital letters and ensure that there is a rational prescription and use of drugs. The meeting also decided to curtail absenteeism of doctors, especially on the days of the OPDs and OTs to ensure that the patients get the treatment as per the schedule and are not pushed to the private clinics. It was also decided that the medical representative will not be allowed inside the OPD to push their medicines in the prescription of the doctors. Dullo also stressed on strengthening of the grievance redressal mechanism and directed district hospitals, medical colleges to nominate a grievance redressal officer for the speedy redressal of the issues of the public. 11-01-2020: Cervical cancer and breast cancer screening camp was organized at CHC Ramgarh, district Samba by Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) cell under the expert supervision of Director Health Services Jammu. 5 days workshop of primary care doctors in mental health under National Mental Health Programme concluded successfully on 04-01-2020 at training hall CMO office Udhampur where training has been imparted to 21 doctors in identifying and managing common mental health problems at primary care settings. Valedictory session was held under the chairmanship of CMO Udhampur Dr.K.C Dogra, in the presence of Collector Railway, DTO and DHO Udhampur.

An outreach camp on Mental and General health was held by BMO Kandi Dr. Iqbal Malik at village Kalalkass, Rajouri on 04/01/2020. In the camp, a total of 185 old age certificates for pension and other allied beneficial purposes, 43 labor certificates for fitness, 10 widow pension certificates were issued on the spot besides 64 children were vaccinated. 214 patients having different ailments were examined & provided free medicine and Lab. tests. Team also delivered a lecture on Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign, Ayushman Bharat Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojana and awareness of Mental Illness and other programmes was provided.
01-01-2020: Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, Sh. Atal Dulloo, chaired the Executive Committee meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Health Society. The meeting was held to discuss and finalize the Programme Implementation Plan (PIP) for financial year 2020-2021. The FC said that the Government is proposing a slew of measures in the PIP for the overall strengthening of the health care facilities. He said that the plan with string of ambitious interventions would be submitted for the approval of the Government of India. "The department is incorporating many new initiatives in the PIP for the next financial year, which will give a major impetus to the health care services" he added. The FC said that focus would be laid on the human resource development, making available new medical equipments, new services and training for augmenting health care services. Mission Director, National Health Mission, Bhupinder Kumar gave a detailed presentation, highlighting the new initiatives that are to be proposed in the PIP. The FC also directed the authorities to start oxygen generation plants in all new medical colleges. He also stressed on making Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU) centres functional in all new medical colleges. He also said that emphasis will be laid on setting up hybrid ICUs in the district hospitals and ensure proper functioning of Health and Wellness Centres. "Besides, the focus in PIP will be on Biomedical Waste Management, Biomedical Equipment Management, Diploma in National Board courses in district hospitals, augmentation of 102 and 108 ambulance services, blood collection and transportation units, provision for free drugs and diagnostic services, skill labs among other programmes and services" the FC said. The aim of the programme was to aware the participants regarding execution and implementation of QAP in their Health Institutions and the participants were trained how to calculate/assess the health facilities so far as QAP is concerned. The resource persons were Dr. Vijay Raina, Divisional Nodal Officer QAP DHS Jammu, Dr. Narinder Bhutyal, State Programme Manager QAP, NHM, Dr. Harjeet Rai, Divisional Nodal Officer, NHM and Dr. Geetanjli, Quality expert, Govt. At CHC Bishnah worthy Financial Commissioner inspected the New building complex where emergency, OPD, USG, Laboratory, Labour room had already been shifted and the remaining sections were yet to be shifted. FC gave directions to the Incharge to get the pending work completed and to shift the other sections to the new building at the earliest. On 7 -12-2019, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Gangyal Jammu along with Dr. Sameer Padha. DHS took round of all the sections of the hospital along with Medical Superintendent Dr. Poonam. DHS interacted with the staff and patients and was satisfied with the overall working of the hospital. On 3.12.2019 DHS Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited NTPHC Nagrota and SDH Jagti. She took extensive round of the hospital and interacted with the staff and patients. A sensitization programme of the RBSK teams of district Jammu was conducted at Conference Hall of Directorate of Health Services Jammu regarding National Tobacco Control Programme On 30-11-2019 .The event was Chaired by Deputy Director Schemes and attended by AD Health Education Bureau and other Officers of Directorate apart from the RBSK teams .A power point presentation was given by Dr Mridula Singh, Nodal Officer NTCP to the participants about the programme, Tobacco use prevalence in India and J&K, its ill effects and the COTPA 2003 and other laws regulating its use .The team members were given the task of conducting awareness programmes and talks in the schools during their routine visits to sensitise the students about the tobacco menace and its ill effects.

On 19-11-2019, DHS Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma inaugurated one day EQA (External Quality Assurance) training in RNTCP at Conference Hall, Directorate of Health Services Jammu, organised by State Tuberculosis Control Society Jammu, in the presence of DD Schemes Dr. Tasneema Banoo, AD HEB Dr. Sharda Parihar, STO Dr. Sanjay Turki, WHO RNTCP Consultant Dr. Sanjay Arora, District Tuberculosis Officers of the six districts and paramedical staff from all the districts of Jammu division, Officers/ Officials of the Directorate. STO Jammu welcomed DHS Jammu, officers and all the participants. DHS Jammu stressed upon all DTOs to be pro- active to achieve the targets. She said combination of TB and HIV is very dreadful and it is very challenging to manage MDR cases. So put your best efforts to accomplish the job. Dr. Sanjay Turki, STO Jammu apprised about RNTCP performance w.e.f 1st January 2019 to 31st October 2019. Dr. Ruchita Mahajan, I/C Microbiologist ILR CD hospital Jammu and Mr. Aakash, Microbiologist, RNTCP, ILR CD hospital spoke on quality assurance of smear microscopy for diagnosing Tuberculosis. A Power Point presentation was given by Mr. Aakash, which was very informative. The training concluded with presentation of certificates by the worthy Director Health Services, Jammu to all the participants.

DHS Jammu took extensive round of the new building and inspected all sections of the hospital. She interacted with Doctors and Paramedical staff and directed them to work hard with sincerity. DHS Jammu also gave directions to BMO Bishnah to construct separate room for Biomedical waste storage. She also inspected the newly completed Jan Aushadhi Kendra and was satisfied with its infrastructure. She gave instruction to BMO Bishnah to procure medicine and promised for early Inauguration. Issues regarding shortage of water supply, out of order X-ray units, staff shortage, pending work of new building was also discussed. DHS Jammu was satisfied with the overall working of the hospital.

He inspected Sentinel Surveillance Centre in particular & enquired about blood testing for Dengue fever from MS Dr. Indira Batyal. Hospital Gandhi NagarJammu regarding achievement in Pain and Palliative care CTC3 at AIIMS New Delhi in collaboration with Asia Pacific Hospice Network Singapore. Our achievement were well appreciated and IAPC (Indian Academy of Palliative care is planning to start Palliative care training course at Govt Hospital GandhinagarJammu for doctors and nurses for smooth functioning of National Palliative care Program. So far 76 patients are registed and admitted in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar for Palliative care. More than 116 have been examined in OPD and provided these services.

National Health Authority organized two day long Arogya Manthan at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi on 30th September, 2019 and 1st October, 2019 to mark completion of one year of the implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana . All the states and union territories participated in the Manthan. State Health Agencies were asked to showcase the best practices adopted in the respective states. State of J & K covered 60 % of the beneficiary families, with regard to golden card generation, in less than first six months of its implementation. A Review meeting regarding Physical and Financial achievement of National Health Programmes:Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Jammu Divison was held today on 26.9.2019 at 11 am under the chairmanship of DHS Jammu Dr. Samir Mattoo in the presence of DD Schemes Dr. Tasnima Banoo, DD Dentistry, AD Schemes, AD HEB, All Nodal officers of National Health Programmes of Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Directorate, Budget Finance Officer and officer/officials of the directorate.The Physical and Financial position with proposed expenditure for achieving the targets for the remaining period of current financial year 2019- 20 with Action Plan was discussed in the meeting.The Nodal officers apprised the chair regarding issues pertaining to their respective Schemes. DHS directed the concerned Nodal officers to expedite the process of distribution of funds at the earliest to achieve the targets. At District Hospital Reasi, DHS gave directions to the Medical Supdtt. Dr. Pritam Singh to complete infrastructure of Jan Aushadhi kendra. He visited Blood Bank in the emergency block and directed controller stores for procurement of equipment to make blood bank functional. UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER-15:- Advisor to Governor, K. Vijay Kumar today inaugurated General Nursing Midwifery (GNM), School at Bailey, Udhampur. Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, Atul Dullo, DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range Sujit Kumar Singh, District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Dr. Piyush Singla, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh were present on the occasion. The school, with state of the art facilities, houses seven laboratories including fundamental lab, MCH Lab, Community Lab, Anatomy & Physiology Lab, Computer Lab, Audio Visual Aid Lab, Nutrition Lab, a Library room besides having a Hostel Block with capacity of accommodating 40 inmates. Different courses to be pursued in this school are GNM, FMPHW Pharmacists, Lab Technician, X-ray Techinician, Dental Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, OT Technician, Anesthetic Technician and ECG Technician. After inaugurating the institute, Advisor had a round of the building and inspected class rooms, laboratories, Hostel Complex. He also interacted with staff and students of the schools Later, Advisor interacted with the district officers and reviewed the status of various projects being executed in the district under different schemes. On the occasion, the local Sarpanchs presented memorandum of their demands to the Advisor. 11-09-2019:-Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Samir Mattoo conducted tour of district Ramban on 11th & 12th September 2019 along with Assistant Director ( Sch.) Dr. Sanjeev Puri. DHS visited District Hospital and Trauma Centre and was satisfied with the working of the hospital and gave direction for improvement of sanitation. Med. Supdt. was asked to submit a proposal for Machinery Equipment and staff after gap analysis to make Trauma Centre functional. On his visit to ANM School, he saw the arrangements being made for its inauguration and gave instructions to the Principal. DHS also visited Health & Wellness Centres at Nera and Chanderkot and directed to BMO Batote to make them functional. He expressed satisfaction over repair & renovation of Health & Wellness Centre Kanga. BMO was also directed to collect free medicines from Drug Ware House Doda for the Health & Wellness Centres. *12-09-2019:* DHS visited DH Batote and conducted round of the hospital, directed BMO to get survey of land demarcation in order to get encroachers clear the hospital land. Further BMO was asked to get DPR prepared for old Sanitorium building repair and renovation. Blood Donation Camp at SDH Sunderbani on 09.09.2019
On 7 september 2019,Financial Commissioner Sh Atal Dulloo IAS, inaugurated SNCU and Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Govt Hospital Sarwal in the presence of DHS Jammu Dr Samir Mattoo, Mr.Bhupinder Kumar MD NHM,DD HQ Dr Renu Sharma, AD Dr Sanjiv Puri,CMO Jammu Dr Danish Ayub Khan among other dignitaries . The chief guest was given a warm welcome and escorted to the office of MS Sarwal hospital where he went through all the minute details of functioning of SNCU and JAK . Later, he inaugurated the SNCU and expressed his happiness about it and interacted with the designated staff of SNCU. Later he inspected the Major OTs including the recently started separate Eye OT. He also inspected the wards and interacted with the patients and their attendants. This was followed by inauguration of JAK where he inspected the drugs available and impressed upon the doctors to prescribe these medicines which are much cheaper and of standard quality. In the end DHS Dr Samir Mattoo interacted with media persons and briefed them about the facilities inaugurated and exhorted them to give wide coverage in media so that maximum number of poeple could take the advantage of the auspicious services.

Besides, CMO Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Reasi, all officers and officials from DHS and CMO office Jammu, BMO, ZEO and CDPO Akhnoor, officers/ officials of revenue department and faculty of GNM Akhnoor were also present. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Neeta Singh, Principal GNM School Akhnoor. DHS Jammu expressed pleasure over the completion of this building. He briefed about the various type of courses to be started in the school along with the duration of each course. To beautify this Institute, he said the parks will be maintained by Social Forestry department and transportation facility will be provided very soon for the day care students. Financial Commissioner congratulated for Inauguration of GNM School Akhnoor. He said paramedics are the backbone of the health sector. He said 11 ANM and GNM schools have been sanctioned in phase one by the Government which will become operational by this year. He further said in phase two more 10 ANM/ GNM schools have been sanctioned which are at different stages of construction and are expected to be operational by next year. Two more nursing colleges will be opened in Jammu soon. He said that Government has decided to start courses like B. Sc Nursing, M. Sc Nursing and B. Sc courses in different paramedical streams to strengthen the availability of staff in the hospitals. In GMC Jammu, Srinagar and in five new Medical colleges new courses of paramedics in different streams will be introduced from where on an average 560 students will pass out every year. Financial Commissioner said comprehensive health care programme of Govt. of India will provide employment opportunity to these students besides the provision of better and affordable health care to the community. All the necessary equipments will be provided to strengthen GNM school Akhnoor. Beautification of the parks and transportation facility for this school will also be taken care of. Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi and telecasted live on Doordarshan on 29-08-2019 at 10 am to administer the fitness pledge for all the citizens of India. The campaign is aimed at encouraging people to include physical activity and sports in their everyday lives which shall take the country towards a healthier future. It was viewed at all the public health facilities including the Health & Wellness Centres in various districts of Jammu division. The fitness pledge was taken by all the medical/ paramedical staff and the public.

Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, DD Dentistry, CAO, DD Planning, AD Schemes/HEB, State Epidemiologist, Controller Store DHS, CMOs of Distt. Reasi, Samba, Udhampur, MS Kathua/Reasi/ Samba, BMOs of concerned districts, Nodal Officers of all Schemes, Budget Finance Officer, CHO I/c Legal Section, Officers of DHS. DHS Jammu was apprised by the concerned CMOs/MS/BMOs regarding present status of Jan Aushadhi Kendras and Health and Wellness centers of their respective district. DHS stressed upon its early Operationalization and also directed to submit list of fully functional HWC for Inauguration. Nodal officers of Centrally Sponsored Schemes discussed their issues with the CMOs/MS/BMOs. DHS stressed upon all CMOs/MS/BMO to coordinate with Nodal officers of the Directorate regarding issues in various Schemes. DHS also gave directions to improve performance regarding National Programmes and to ensure timely submission of Physical and Financial report every month and to personally monitor the various indicators to improve IMR and Anaemia Mukt Bharat.

Today, on 3.8.2019 a meeting was held in the conference hall of the Directorate of Health Services Jammu under the chairmanship of DD HQ, Dr. Renu Sharma. The meeting was conducted by Dr. Samir Padha, Nodal officer BLS/ALS, regarding BLS training of TOT of Police Department. The meeting was attended by Master Trainers of Jammu District. The agenda of the meeting was to plan and formulate the TOT training programme. The Master Trainers were apprised about the topics of BLS training and the pattern of the training to be imparted to the Police Department.

On 20th of July 2019, training program of *National Biomedical Equipment Maintenance and Management Programme* was conducted at Directorate of Health Services Jammu. The Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of District and Sub District Hospitals of district Jammu, Samba and Kathua were present in the said workshop.

A meeting regarding starting of Degree Courses in various Paramedical streams in the state was held by Jammu and Kashmir State Paramedical Council on 16.7.2019 at Government Medical College Srinagar.The meeting was attended by President J&K Paramedical Council, Prof.Dr.Parvaiz Ahmed Shah (Principal Govt.Medical College Srinagar) ,Vice President and (Principal GMC Jammu), Dr.Sunanda Raina, Deputy Director HQ Jammu, Dr.Renu Sharma, Dr.Sandeep Singh, Registrar secretary and other dignitaries and members of the council. Many issues regarding Paramedical courses were discussed in detail.The various courses were B.Sc Medical Laboratory, BSc Radiology, B.Sc Cardiac Care Technology, B.Sc Operation Theatre, B.Sc Respiratory Care Technology, including B.Sc Neuroscience Technology etc. Among other issues it was decided that any student having passed the diploma course from outside the state will have to pass the EXIT exam for getting registered in the state.

STO Jammu and DTOs of all Distt. gave in detail the performance report of their respective districts.The present position of validation and opening of bank accounts,CBNAAT testing,HIV test,availability of HIV kits,supervisory vehicles,shortage of manpower,Digital X-ray availability,Active Case finding reports was discussed in the meeting.STO Jammu instructed all DTOs to take initiative to bring better results,CBNAAT testing for all +ve cases,Nikshay payment to be 100%,TB forum to be completed and demand for Digital X-ray installation in Distt where not yet installed. DHS Jammu directed STO Jammu and all DTOs to complete the validation to 100% within 10 days time and to improve their respective Distt.performance at the earliest.
A meeting regarding review of Progress of establishment of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the state was held today on 4.7.2019 in the conference hall of DHS Jammu,under the chairmanship of DHS Jammu Dr.Samir Mattoo,in the presence of State Drug Controller,Mrs.Lotika Khajuria,State Nodal officer Drug and Food Control J&K,DD Dentistry,AD Planning Samba,CMOs/M.S,BMOs of Jammu Division.DHS Jammu was briefed by CMOs/M.S regarding status concerning establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in their respective districts. Drug Controller J&K assured DHS that once papers are submitted for licensing,the officer from Drug Controller Office shall visit within two days and complete process at the earliest.DHS directed all CMOs/MS &BMOs present in the meeting to complete the process of engagement of Pharmacist,Infrastructure installation within fifteen days.

Concerned BMOs were directed to complete repairs and renovation with branding in all the centres.

One day training workshop on Leprosy Case Detection Campaign (LCDC) for Block Medical Officers and Incharge Medical Officers of Jammu Urban was organised by office of Chief Medical Officer Jammu at Hotel Radisson Blu on 22-06-2019. Microaction plan of modalities to be used during 14 days of LCDC was deliberated in detail.Activities to be started wef 1st July to 14th July 2019.Dr.Samir Mattoo , Director Health Services Jammu was the Chief Guest.Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr.Danish Ayub Khan along with other participants ZLO DHS,SMO WHO, Dy.CMO,DHO,Block Medical Officers (All Blocks) and Incharge Medical Officers of Jammu Urban attended the workshop.Special emphasis was given on operational preparedness and adherence of timelines,roles and responsibilities of each member of team was explained in detail. Aim of this workshop was to detect the hidden cases of Leprosy,if any to be detected and treated at the earliest to bring elimination of Leprosy to desired level.

On 15-06-2019 *UNITED NATION WORLD ELDER ABUSE DAY AWARENESS* PROGRAMME was Observed at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar, where District Health Society Kishtwar established a free checkup Camp/Stall under the supervision of Dr. A.M.Malik (vice chairman District Health Society Kishtwar),Dr. M.Y.Mir (Dy.C.M.O Kishtwar) in which free checkup was conducted and free medicines were distributed to about 250 patients.

Today on 14 06 2019 , a mega camp on " Ageing With Dignity" was held in Reasi organised by Chief Medical Officer Reasi Dr Parminder Singh in Collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Reasi. In the camp free medicines were distributed to all elderly group and free Lab tests were also conducted besides ENT , Eye and Medicine services were provided to the elderly group. A Provincial Review meeting of RNTCP of Jammu province 08 June 2019 which was jointly chaired by Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Sameer Mattoo and Mr. Bhupinder Kumar IAS , MD NHM J&K at PWD Guest House , Jammu . Provincial presentation was given by STO Jammu , Dr. Sanjay Turki and District Presentations were given by all DTOs encompassing all the physical and financial parameters of the programme from Jan 19 to May 19 . An indepth and incisive assessment of functioning of the programme was done by MD NHM J&K and DHS Jammu . The meeting was also attended by Dr. ADS Manhas , Prog Manager , NHM , Dr. Harjeet , DNO NHM , Dr. Tasnim Syed , and Dr. Sanjay Arora , WHO Consultants . All DTOs and field staff ( DEOs , STS , STLS ) of whole Jammu province attended the review meeting . Directions were issued to concerned , on spot along with deadlines for filling in the gaps in performance . The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair .
A meeting was held at Directorate of Health Services Jammu regarding requirement and supply of Drugs,Machinery Equipment and Disposables in the Health Care Facilities of Jammu division with Managing Director,JKMSCL on 7.6.2019 at 2pm. Director Health Services Jammu stressed the urgency in requirement of Medicines,IV fluids,Disposables etc. in the interest of patient care. MD assured early supply of already procured logistics.Regarding non supply of equipment whose invoices/funds have already been submitted to JKMSCL,it was decided that the Nodal officers of DHS and JKMSCL shall reconcile such list for JKMSCL to take necessary action.

Awareness Drive about Dengue on National Dengue Day observed on 16th May, 2019 by State Malariologist ,DHS Complex, Jammu in association with Model Academy School (MIER), B.C Road, Jammu. Students & Teachers were sensitized about causes of Dengue & Its prevention. Students also spoke in detail about the causes and prevention of the disease. The department presented trophies to the students.
On 14.5.2019 DHS Jammu Dr. Samir Mattoo visited District Rajouri & had a detailed meeting with DC Rajouri Mr. Mohammad Aijaz regarding Health issues of District Hospital Rajouri. On the occasion of World Malaria Day on 25 April, 2019 , a rath yatra was flagged off by the worthy Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. Samir Mattoo. The rath yatra was organized by the office of the State Malariologist. J&K State,Jammu under Nation Vector Borne Disease ControlProgramme. The theme for this year's WMD is "Zero Malaria Starts With Me". The aim of the rath yatra is to impart awareness regarding prevention, control and elimination of Malaria from the state The rath yatra started from Directorate of Health Services, Near MLA hostel, Jammu and covered prominent places of Jammu urban area. IEC material like Leafles were disseminated by the staff members deputed with the yatra. The vehicle for yatra is fitted with a loud speaker and banners for the propagation of preventive measures for control and elimination of malaria. On the occasion Dr. Renu Sharma, Dy. Director Health Services (HO), Jammu Dr. Syed Tasneema Banoo, Dy. Director Health Services (Schemes), Jammu, Dr Sanjeev Puri, Assistant Director Health Services (Schemes), Jammu along with other dignitaries were present on the occasion. After flagging off ceremony of rath yatra Dr. Samir Mattoo, Director Health Services, Jammu addressed the gathering and highlighted the achievements made by the state regarding control malaria and decreasing trends of malaria especially Plasmodium Falciparum cases. Today on 06.04.2019 Director Health Services Jammu Dr.Samir Mattoo,visited Sub centre Patnitop and NTPHC Kud.He was accompanied by CMO Udhampur Dr.K.C.Dogra BMO Chenani Dr.Mohd.Yaseen. He discussed with CMO Udhampur to upgrade sub centre Patnitop to NTPHC. He also inspected newly constructed building of NTPHC Kud.He gave directions to CMO Udhampur to shift from rented building to new Govt.building and upgrade it to Health and Wellness centre He assured to provide funds for equipments. DHS Jammu also visited GNM school Baili,Udhampur.He inspected the ongoing construction work of the school and gave directions to the construction agency to look into proper ventilation of rooms and also to improve the width of the stairs and to complete work at the earliest so that Gnm school can be started.

The Director took round of all sections of the hospital.He also took stock of the facilities being provided to the patient.He was satisfied with the cleanliness and work of the hospital. The Director also inspected the ongoing construction work of the Residential block of the Hospital and issued necessary instructions to the BMO Katra Dr.Gopal Dutt.
On 29.3.2019 Director Health services Jammu Dr.Samir Mattoo visited CHC Marh and Health and Wellness centers Jaswan and Dub Karamdin in Block Marh.He was accompanied by Assistant director Schemes Dr.Sanjeev Puri,CMO Jammu Dr.Danish Ayub Khan and BMO Marh Dr.Harbaksh Singh.Director Health Services Jammu Dr.Samir Mattoo took round of all sections of the hospital.He also took stock of the availability of medical supplies of the hospital.He was satisfied with the cleanliness and work of the hospital.Director Health Services Jammu Dr.Samir Mattoo also inspected the ongoing renovation work of the Health and Wellness centers Jaswan and Dub Karamdin and instructed BMO Marh for early completion of the Health and Wellness centers.
Today on 26th March 2019,World T.B day was observed at Chest Disease Hospital, DTC, Bakshinagar Jammu. Theme of the year 2019 is It's Time to end T. B. Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Samir Mattoo was chief guest. Other dignitaries present at the function were Deputy director Schemes Dr. Tasneema Banoo, Assistant director schemes Dr. Sanjeev Puri , AD HEB, State Epidemiologist, CMO Jammu Dr. Danish Ayub Khan, All officers/officials of C.DHospital and DTC Jammu, All BMOs with concerned staff of Jammu, HOD Community medicine, MO RNTCP ASCOMS and DTO Samba, Representatives from NGO St. Joseph Hospital Smailpur Bari Brahmana.Flagging of ACSM van fitted with Mike and speaker was done by DHS Jammu Dr. Samir Mattoo. Function was started with SaraswatiBandana and welcome address by Dr. Aruna Verma . DHS Jammu Dr. Samir Mattoo and CMO Jammu Dr.Danish Ayub Khan spoke on the occasion and briefed about present status of the disease and stressed upon the eradication of disease by 2025 in the country. Momentoes were also presented to DHS Jammu Dr Samir Mattoo, DDSchemes, AD Schemes, CMO Jammu, M.S and HOD of chest disease Hospital. Tuberculosis Unit Akhnoor was judged the best and honored. Best DOT Providers /Workers were also given certificate of appreciation and momentoes. DD SchemesDr. Tasneema Banoo gave fruit baskets to cured/under treatment patients. Today on 24.3.2019 World T.B day was observed at St. Joseph Hospital, Smailpur Bari Brahmna, Jammu wherein Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Department J&K Sh. Atal Dulloo along with Director Health Services Jammu Dr Samir Mattoo were invited as chief guest & guest of honour respectively. Mission Director NHM, Sh.Bhupinder Kumar was Special guest on the occasion. A Mobile van with public addressal system was flagged off by the dignitaries from the venue for spreading awareness regarding T.B & it's cure among public. T.B patients under treatment & DOT providers/workers were felcitated by the chief guest. While addressing the gathering Dr Samir Mattoo DHS Jammu stressed upon complete eradication of the disease by 2025 in the country. Vote of thanks was given by STO Jammu, Dr Sanjay Turki.
On 23-03-2019 a review meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Samir Mattoo in presence of Director, Family Welfare,MCH & Immunization J&K, Dr. Arun Sharma, Dy. Director (Schemes), State Malariologist, Dy Director Dentistry Dy Director (Planning). Asstt, Director (Schemes/HEB), All Chief Medical Officers of Jammu Division along with Programme Officers/Nodal Officers of DHS office Jammu. Issue of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana was discussed in detail in presence of State Coordinator Mrs. Rifat Nazir. The Chair directed all CMOs of Jammu Division to identify space for these Centres at respective District Hospitals. Action Taken Report on the decisions of 19.12.2018 State Health Society Meeting was discussed in detail in presence of Dr. Harjeet Rai, Nodal Officer,NHM and CMOs were asked to submit regular updates of status regarding JSY MDR,PMSMA PMNDP.SNCU, NRC, NOAS Kayakalp, Mera Aspataal, VHND,VHSNC, Health & Wellness Centres. Director Family Welfare requested all CMOs for early submission of pending USC of GIA/funds Director Health Services stressed upon all CMOs to coordinate with Nodal Officers of Directorate and NHM regarding issues in the various schemes.

Tobacco Cessation Centre(TCC) under National Tobacco Control Programme is functional at Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu. .It is located in OPD building of the Hospital. The TCC services are available every Saturday through a trained Counselor and Psychiatrist .Drugs have been made available to help people in their efforts to quit tobacco.
Worthy Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Mr Atul Dulloo paid surprise visit to Urban Primary Health Centres Talab Tillo, Subash Nagar, Janipur and Sarwal Hospital and evaluated the manpower, infrastructure and the basic services being rendered by these centres to the general public. He was accompanied by Director Health Services Jammu Dr Samir Mattoo, MD NHM Mr Bhupinder Kumar IAS, CMO Jammu Dr Danish Ayub Khan, Assistant Director Schemes Dr Sanjeev Puri and other officials of the health department. Principal secretary gave orders for rationalisation of the human resource and strengthening of these urban health centres by providing latest diagnostic equipments and essential medicines.
Under National Tobacco Control Programme a campaign was observed in various schools of Jammu district w.e.f 17.1.2019 to 13.2.2019.During the campaign information regarding ill effects of tobacco use were disseminated among students.

Today on 20th February,2019 inauguration of Critical Care Ambulance was done by Hon'ble MOS ,PMO , I/C of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Personal, Public Grievances and Pensions Department , Atomic Energy and Department of Space Dr. Jatinder Singh at his Gandhinagar office Jammu in the presence of Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Sameer Matto , Director NHM Mr. Bhupinder Kumar , Mr SK Gupta MD J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd. , Deputy Director(HQ) , Dr. Renu Sharma , Deputy Director (Schemes) Dr. Taslima Banno , CMO Jammu Dr. Danish Ayub Khan and all senior officers of Directorate Health Services Jammu. The Advance Life Supporting Ambulance inaugurated by Dr. Jatinder Singh is fitted with ventilators , defibrillator , oxygen supply and other advanced equipments which are life saving in case of critical emergencies. He also promised to donate more such ambulances in future for welfare of people of rural and hilly areas of J&K.

Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Samir Mattoo takes extensive tour of Distt. Kishtwar on 10/2/2019. He visited DH Kishtwar and interacted with the patients and staff. He then visited PHC Dachhan, PHC Marwah, Warwan and Chanderkote, the remotest and snow ridden areas of Distt Kishtwar. He interacted with the general public and the staff posted there. He took stock of the medicines and health facilities for the people available in the health institutions. He was carrying additional supply of medicines and disposables for the benefit of the people as these areas are unreachable right now due to heavy snowfalls. People were very happy to have DHS Jammu amongst them and thanked him for being the first Director to have visited in these conditions and providing additional supply of medicines for the welfare of people during these trying times. He also told the public that new Medical Officers have been posted recently for their welfare and assured them that Directorate of Health Services, Jammu will always be at the service of people who are living in these hard conditions. He was accompanied by Controller Stores, Dr Kartar Chand.
